WS 23/24 Lecture series "Planetary Health"

ZMG has once again prepared a series of lecturers (Ringvorlesung): "Interdisciplinary - Integrative - International" perspectives on Planetary Health. Starting on 23rd October 2023 with the lecture of Dr. med. Karin Geffert, various topics will be discussed: planetary health, urban health, diseases, climate change. The lectures will always take place on Mondays at 18:15 in Frauenklinik (Hugstetter Str. 55, 79106 Freiburg, großer Hörsaal).

The Global Health Academy Opening Ceremony was hosted by the University of Bonn in an online event that attracted around 200 early career researchers and members of the German Alliance for Global Health Research, GLOHRA. Speakers from academia to the political sector expressed their support for this GLOHRA initiative, while panelists shared concrete ways of how the Academy can best support the development of global health researchers. Our teaching coordinator, Dr. Sonia Diaz-Monsalve, represented the University of Freiburg as part of the Academic Advisory Board.

Summary Report: The second workshop in public health was carried out in Valledupar from 28.02 until 02.03 in the Camara de Comercio facilities. 19 participants from different disciplines from Secretaria de Salud from Cesar were present from 4 municipalities from Valledupar, La Jagua de Ibirico, Pelaya y la Paz (see photo attached). The participation from the second department la Guajira was unfortunately not possible. Unofficial information reported as reason "the lack of job contracts of the health staff". The facilitation team was composed by: Dres Enrique Penaloza and Andres Cubillos from Instituto Salud Publica, Universidad Javeriana and Dr. Sonia Diaz-Monsalve ZMG coordinator from University Freiburg in Germany.
