Strengthening Capacity Building through the PINGH Network:

On behalf of the organizers of the Exchange between Freiburg and PSU, Ursula Wittwer-Backofen and Caprice Knapp, we are pleased to invite you to the 1st Freiburg-Penn State Collaboration Meeting on Strengthening Capacity Building through the Pan Institute Network of Global Health.

The aim of the Meeting is the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of graduate education in global health and of health research at the national and international levels. We will have talks on the support of these exchanges from units of the University, such as the Foreign Office and the Freiburg Academy of Continuing Education in addition to talks on health research from the perspectives of WHO and the Unit of Health Care Research and Rehabilitation Research at Freiburg. Sonia, along with two students from this year´s cohort, will share their experience with the implementation of the MSc program at Freiburg. A respective team from PSU will refer to their undergraduate and graduate programs.

A large part of the meeting comprises exchanges among researchers from the two universities in the domains of Urban Health and Non Communicable Diseases. Short presentations from participants will be followed by an exchange of ideas and clarification of proposals that the two groups could jointly develop. It is in this area in particular that we would appreciate your participation.
